On friday October 10, 2008, the Global Information Network organized a special screening of the Paul Newman-narrated film The Price of Sugar, with guest appearance of Marie Yolene Gilles of the Haiti-based Reseau National de Defense des Droits Humains and Dr. Steeve Coupeau, author of the History of Haiti.


NYIHA MEDIA conducted outreach for relief for the hundreds of thousands of people in Haiti affected by hurricanes Gustav, Hanna, and Ike. We also urged our readers and list members to support the bill HR6520, introduced in the 110th Congress and 2D Session, which aims to increase global stability and security for the United States and the International Community by reducing the number of individuals who are de jure or de facto stateless and at risk of being trafficked.


WRFG-FM radio host Jenero conducted an Interview with Dr. Steeve Coupeau on Haiti's contributions to liberation in Latin America in the 19th Century on Monday 25 June 2008. The interview was edited by Bruno Gaston.
